Yes! It doesn’t have to be sunny for solar panels to gather solar energy! In fact, solar panels actually perform best when the temperature is lower. Cold sunny days are ideal for PV panels – good news for us here in the UK!
Our surveyor will make a thorough inspection of your home, taking into account the size of the roof, its orientation, the pitch of the roof and any shading factors. ASK Renewables will assess your property and advise.
Our trained Surveyor & Domestic Energy Assessor will talk to you about your needs and make recommendations.
Most manufacturers guarantee a certain level of performance for 20-25 years, however, they typically function well beyond that.
Panels are self-cleaning but, depending on your location you may need the panels cleaned professionally at intervals, for instance, if you live by the coast or in a heavy traffic area, mineral or pollution build-up will impact the ability of the panels to receive sunlight. In such instances, we will recommend a cleaning schedule relevant to your environment
During daylight hours the panels generate electricity for you to use around your home. For ALL the electricity your panels generate, you will receive the prevailing Feed-In Tariff rate at the point of application to the FIT provider. You also receive an export tariff for the surplus energy your panels generate and feed into the National Grid..
Your solar panels do not store electricity, so you will draw power from the National Grid in the usual way. This happens automatically- you do not have to remember to flick a switch: life goes on as normal!
Yes, we can supply battery storage systems. Your surveyor will advise you on your initial visit.
A basic 4kWp system can be installed from as little as £4995.
The solar system is like any other fixture and fitting: you paid for it so you own it. The two most straightforward choices are to either leave the system in place and transfer the FIT to the new owner or you can have the system stripped out and reinstalled on your new property. Both the vendor and the buyer should inform their respective energy supplier.
